Ashfield Self Catering Holiday Cottages on the North York Moors near Pickering are surrounded by a wealth of enjoyable things to discover during your stay with us.

This is a great area to go walking and you will find  many walks that can start straight from your doorstep. Only a few minutes walk away from the cottages there is a play park for the children with tennis court, also in the village a Tea Room for tasty treats. There are 2 pubs, the Fox and Rabbit Inn and the Horseshoe Inn, both within 1-mile of the village that serve good food and drink with a selection of other eating places nearby.

 The holiday cottages are close to Dalby Forest where you can challenge yourself on the Go-Ape adventure course or try out the mountain bike trails, the forest also as picnic and play areas for the family, or you can just enjoy the scenery.  Only 5 miles away in the Market Town of Pickering  you will find a selection of shops and eating places and one of the starting points for the North York Moors Railway, which can take you back in time for a nostalgic day out, stopping off at Goathland village used in the filming of the Heartbeat T.V series, then you can travel on the train to visit Whitby.

Our holiday cottages are in a good location for you to visit Ryedale and enjoy the many attractions it has to offer, while you stay in this traditional moorland village setting on the North Yorkshire Moors.

Within a 40-minute drive of the holiday cottages you can visit York, or Historic Houses like Castle Howard and Scampston Gardens, Lavender farms, Pickering Castle, Beck Isle Museum, Ryedale Folk Museum or Eden Camp, Flamingo Land or discover yorkshire coast seaside resorts of Scarborough, Whitby and Filey.
